This project is located in Namangan Region, Uzbekistan, and is invested by the Foreign Investment Project Implementation Center under the Ministry of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The Group Company undertook the full scope of design, construction, and supporting infrastructure for all irrigation wells. The Group Company undertook the full scope of design, construction, and supporting infrastructure for all irrigation wells. The project covered the entire process from well drilling to pump station construction. A total of 126 irrigation wells were completed, with a cumulative drilling depth of 21,049 meters, ranging from 80 to 220 meters per well. Supporting facilities were also completed, including pump house construction, power system installation, transformer erection, pipeline drainage system construction, site fencing, and road repairs, forming a complete water supply system.
The project commenced on October 13, 2023, and was completed on May 31, 2025, with an actual construction period of 595 days. All contractual tasks were successfully fulfilled. During construction, the project team overcame numerous challenges associated with working in a complex overseas environment, including inconvenient transportation, high temperatures and drought, thick gravel layers, and difficulties in procuring materials. Several technical breakthroughs were achieved:
1. Improved drill bits to successfully address the issues of rapid bit wear and low drilling efficiency in thick gravel layers.
2. Self-developed a hole straightening tool, optimized mud mix proportions, and implemented regular bit lifting and hole straightening to resolve difficulties with stuck pipes and bit extraction.
3. Designed a drill pipe handling system based on the principle of movable pulleys, reducing manual labor intensity and improving pipe disassembly efficiency and construction safety.
4. Successfully obtained two invention patents: A Construction Method for Small-Diameter Deep Borehole Forming and A Hole Straightening Tool for Small-Diameter Deep Borehole Forming, along with three process improvement achievements.
The completed works underwent full-process supervision and acceptance by the client and supervisor, passing the initial acceptance inspection with a 100% quality pass rate. Key indicators such as well depth, well location deviation, well inclination, well development effectiveness, and pumping test yield all exceeded design and code requirements. The supporting power system and pump station equipment operated stably, meeting local irrigation water demand and earning high recognition from the client. Furthermore, this project accumulated valuable experience in overseas water well drilling project execution, cross-border procurement, and international collaboration. It also led to the development of corporate standards, providing a solid foundation for the successful implementation of similar overseas projects in the future.
