The Lucky power plant site is located next to Muhammad Bin Qasim Port, about 40km east of Karachi, Pakistan, with a capacity of 1×660MW. Our company was commissioned by Lucky Electric Power Company Limited to undertake the construction of bored piles for this project. The construction period was from March 15, 2021 to August 19, 2021.
The construction site is a shallow mudflat, 4 m below the ground is backfilled, 4 m~18 m below the ground is flow-plastic silt, and 18 m~30 m below the ground is sandstone mudstone. The design pile type is bored pile, 15 piles with a diameter of 760mm, totaling 450m; 47 piles with a diameter of 1000mm, totaling 1156.2m; 5 piles tested with high strain and 60 piles tested with low strain.
Due to stratigraphic reasons, the drilling construction was slow in the flow plastic layer. Through repeated attempts to adjust the specific gravity of the slurry, and research and improve the structure of the Banka drill, we gradually improved the productivity and ensured the progress and quality of the project. The piles were tested to be 100% qualified and handed over successfully.
